Homespun Music

Here is some music that I’ve had a hand in creating.

Castle Castle is the name Jeff Sims and I used (still use?) for collaborative music-based projects (including a comic book and a video). The Castle Castle songs I’m posting are from a six-song CDR from a few years ago called Gladstone (if you want one let me know, I have plenty for everyone). Nothing’s wrong with your earbuds, it’s supposed to sound like this.

I've been using the name "The Privates" for the things I make by myself, or sometimes with help from my wife, Kate. It is usually a little less noisy than the music I make with Jeff in Castle Castle.
Below is a Bernadette Mayer poem that I made into a song:  “Historic Preservation,” from Another Smashed Pinecone. United Artists Books, 1998.

It's one of six songs on a CDR, called T is for Them; it's my version of a cover album (EP actually). I made up all the music, but the words are from other people, including Wallace Stevens, Grant Hart, Herman Melville, et al.
